Christophoros Karathanasis

Chris is a violinist, violin teacher and blogger. He studied the violin at the Athens Conservatory, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. His teachers include Ioannis Tzoumanis, Simon Fischer, Christoph Poppen and Hagai Shaham. He also studied 'Performance Teaching' at the Guildhall School and has extensive performing and teaching experience. He was a member of the World Youth Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and since 2005 is a permanent member of the Athens State Orchestra. He has also performed several solo recitals and chamber music concerts. He has taught the violin in Greece and the U.K.for the last fifteen years both privately and in music schools.
